Hi everyone I am new to the site so I am hoping some one can help me. I have a 1998/99 Compass Rallye its wonderful its the first van we have owned and had it for four years with no problems at all. But need some advice on how to remove the cover from the light fitting. It is olbong in shape we have tried pushing pulling in all directions but to no avail. There are no screws or clip visable.

Any ideas ?

Secondly the heating we cant not get the blow air heating to blow warm air. It worked the first time we used the van but since we have used the gas fire but would like to know what the problem could be.

Do you mean the heating while on electricity?   And what make/model heater is it?

If the light are the same as the ones in our old Compass Rallye then they are quite stiff covers to remove , they are clipped at the sides and the ends so you need to gently bend the sides out , can't remember with the heating sorry.

Thanks Sue an Jon we have tried for four years and each season we try again but there seems to be no budging it lol. It has two small indentations either side of the cover but they appear to do nothing. We get it loose by pressing those but then there seems to be something else holding it in place.

P.S We are also visitors at Warren Farm. Just returned from Sandford Park in Dorset.

I've just checked the spares we have in the shed ( they are made by Durite) , there is a clip on either side that you will need to gently lever lose and then either end also has clips so then you need to do the same at one end , I remember we had trouble (and I couldn't get the spare one off just either cos it hurts yout fingers!!) but they do come off and are really easy to put back on .17

It is possible the heater element has tripped, there was a reset button on ours, but not all models have them.

If you feel on the back left of the casing of the heater, down a bit from the top, there may be a small square indentation, it is not easy to find first time. You press on this and if it has the reset, then this will reset it.

Hi

Thanks to both of you we will certainly check them out when we go to our van in just over a weeks time. Wish me luck lol.

Would a love to change my GTE to a new one, I do like the Bailey Luisiana, but at £17,000 I may have to win the lotto first. I thought about a trade in but they want to pay pennies for ours and to be honest our Compass is in exceptional condition. We are its second owners, its just I would like a fixed bed. My 16yr son and his g/friend come with us and we like the single beds at the front for them and so far the Bailey l is the only that meets all our needs.
