Hello All.

I am really really hoping that someone may be able to help.. My problem is that we have recently decided to try caravaning again and a few weeks ago bought a caravan.

We bought a 2002 (though we are wondering if it is actually older than a 2002..) Sterckeman Sun Sport 1 caravan (small 2 berth caravan)

When we viewed it the seller advised us (privatae sell) that although there was a slight crack in the front window (had a small ammount of gaffa tape on it) that it did not leak and that they would be easy to get if we wanted to replace it.

Well, we are away in it right now and last night - when the rain was heavy we had water coming in the van so much that the bed was getting pretty wet.. so it does actually leak and quiet bad at that... !

anyway our problem is that we need to replace this window asap as we obviously dont want the caravan getting damp.. but cannot find any where that sells parts etc for the make of caravan we have.. we have an idea that it could be a german made van?

We really would appreciate help and if anyone knows of anywhere / website where we can get parts / new window for this male of caravan - information would be greatfully recieved...

there are other niggly things about the caravan such as a leaking sky light etc but this type of thing I guess can be sorted with silicon..

Many thanks to anyone who may be able to help us..

Lesley & Mark.

I believe that there used to be a dealer at Stafford that also sold Freedom caravans that might be able to help you, we visited them about 18mths ago and they did have a small shop and spares department, im sorry i dont remember their name, but shouldnt be too difficult to find either via yellow pages or by asking a local.

ok thankyou julia thats great i will try and google to find them..

didnt realise it would be so hard to find the window we need... had we realised that it leaked we wouldnt have bought it.. but you take the sellers word in good faith dont you..

its a weird old set up in the caravan.. we are thinking that perhaps originally it was a 4 berth and has been changed into a 2 berth and also been really changed about.. which isnt a problem though as we do like the set up ish.. didnt realise though how small it would feel inside.. we are actually contemplating on upgrading next year to a bigger caravan - as would really like a fixed bed..

wouldnt go for this make again i dont think.. really dark inside caravan due to lack of usual ammount of windows..

fancy a bailey next time..

thanks again.

lealey.
