Hi all,

On my new(er) van, it came fitted with a Keen Electronic Concept K.E.L Alarm....

100% working so i was told (battery flat) but it appears not....

The PIR flashes, its turned on with the key switch, but no light lit and nothing when the buttons on the fob are pressed, the fob lights up when pressed and changed the battery just in case.

I've checked the voltage to the alarm and all the other wiring, new backup battery installed but still the same, i've check the key switch is working and checked the internal fuse and the outside blade fuse....

Does anyone know anything about them, maybe the fob needs resyncing?

I've emailed Keen twice now and received no reply in 2 weeks :(

Any help will be gratefully received..

Do you only have one fob?  Try ringing them.

Perhaps its the siren part thats not working so you won't here the alarm cheep as it is switched on or the alarm going off.  Trigger the alarm whilst looking at the red light on the control box.  It provides diagnostics as provided here.  In case its the PIR thats not working use the panic mode by pressing both buttons on the fob.

It might be a case of checking it has been installed properly

Perhaps the unit itself has gone faulty and may need fixing by keene.  WE have the dealer alarm and it works well.

The red light on the controllor doesnt light up at all, but i've checked the LED and works fine, but i've tried the alarm and triggering from the PIR, the leg sensor and panic alarm...still no light or alarm!

Yes it only came with one fob, I've gone through all the installation and everything is fine!!

I've emailled Keen again just now and I will try and give them a ring as soon as I can.

Many thanks thou Brian

i fitted one recently on our van...

when you turn on the alarm at the contol box using the key it should chirp once.
this might give you an indication of the sounder working or if its intiallising.

if you can get to the sounder and connect a 9v battery to it you wont get a noise, but you will hear the static type sound. Im not sure if this will determine if its working, but might give you an idea.

i'm guessing that its not the sounder though as even if you think you have set-it then trigger the alarm and the sounder doesnt work you will still get some flashing from the LED to say what triggered it.

Thanks jasie...still no luck

Though I've received a reply from Keen, £17 - £ 25 if its a standard repair, have to post the controllor and fob to them!

Guess I'll have to pay out more money, still with the weather being bad i've saved in a way, on not going away!
