I am considering purchasing a breathable cover to avoid the damaging effects of over wintering of my van. I should be grateful for any comments regarding makes to be recommended ,avoided etc.

Pain to fit, especially if you have a roof antenna & air vents/flues.

See how many 2nd hand ones have small rips & tears.

We bought one as our vans getting on a bit now & prefer to try and keep the water out for a bit longer.

hi,we bought a purpleline cover for our van, would recomend you don`t! it fell to bits in under 12 months.the only good thing is we did get our money back I know there are alot of folks did`nt. as for useing a cover,we would`nt be without one ,they keep your van nice and clean, plus protect from the worst of the weather.

Sue, what kind did you replace your Purpleline cover with?  And has it been any better than the first one?

Hi all. Great site and great messages some very interesting things on here. We did consider a van cover, but decided against it after hearing some horror stories from our friends. We have always just used a tarp, does'nt cover the whole van but the roof and some of side is covered, and it works fine. Found if we wash van, dry it completley(which is the akward bit) we then put a realy light blanket over the roof then the tarp. It's worked for us so far.
