I have been asked to help replace the black rubber seals on 5 windows on my freinds caravan. Got the seals OK and removed the old one, no great problem but very fiddely, especially putting the grey hard plastic filler back in. Anyone done this or has any tips on how to do this with a bit more ease?

I also noticed that the old seal was stapled to the wood before the grey was put in, as most of these had rusted, wonder if this is really necessary.

Quick response would be good as I have three more to do this Friday/Saturday

John

Hi John , have a look here http://www.1carpc.co.uk/wcdr/window-reseal-2.htm .
I wouldn't recommend leaving the staples out .
You can warm the filler trim up in a bowl of hot water , this will make it easier to go back in .

Sorry - this may be too late but your local dealer may have a little gadget to do this. I managed to borrow one from my local dealer where i bought the seals and it really makes a difference.
