Hi, I didn't use any insulation as the carpet has a thin rubber backing.I fixed the carpet straight to the fiberglass using heavy duty spray adhesive which i bought of ebay, a lot cheaper than buying from diy stores. For relining all the Freedom I got 6 cans.
for the bracing I drilled from inside the cupboards (beneath)where I put the wood and above so the wood isn't attached to the fiberglass at all.
The carpet cost just under £4 a metre and I used 4x4 metres
Hope info helps
