I have just gone out to the van which is hooked up to the mains and none of the lights, fridge or anything is working. Nothing at all not even the 12v lights. Can anyone help the battery is completley flat. Would appreciate any help please as to the cause
theres your problem right there flat batt right joke over have you checked the breaker switches in the consumer unit, they do tend to trip from time to time, if thats fine then you may have a issue with the ehu lead sockets or the vans socket check them, no point testing the 12v system if batt is flat you need to get the 240v to work to charge the battery or take it out and do it in house.
Do you have a main switch inside the 'van marked car-van, and if so, is it switched to van? I believe the Baileys also have a switch at the door entrance which has to be switched on too.
Have you tried a small table lamp or something in one of your 13 amp sockets inside the van to make sure there is no mains at all?
We think (and a mobile Caravan Mechanic) that this is the problem. We have the mechanic coming today to do it. He is charging £120. which isn't too bad as its a Sunday and he is coming quite a distance. Will let youknow if it is.
Check the house supply. There should be an RCD feeding the socket that you plug the EHU lead into. Check that this hasn't tripped. If anyone hasn't got an RCD on the house socket or in the consumer unit, you should have.
