Bit of a long shot but I am after either a full complete working Carver 1800SC gas fire or at the very least the plastic ignitor.
I know these are rarer than hens teeth but if you or anyone is braking a van then I would like first refusal.

If your piezo holder has broken away from the control rod? then they are easy to fix with a slim lightweight jubliee clip and 2 pack epoxy resin.

If it's the actual piezo inside that's faulty? then I have new ones of those

Unfortunately the whole igniter was broken when I bought the caravan.
I intended to repair it with a jubilee clip but my wife threw it away when 'tidying' the caravan.
She just thought it was a 'bit of plastic' that needed throwing away.
So thanks to SWMBO I have no way of lighting the fire.

I have a thought in my head to join the control rod to the gas valve with a piece of bar drilled and suitably grubscrewed at each end, then it's an easy matter to fit a standard piezo to the fire top and extend the wires up to it.

I have exactly the same thought! I sure I have some thin flat bar knocking around somewhere.
I even have an old rusty BBQ in the shed with a working piezo attached.
I now know what I am doing this weekend!

The bar needs to be ideally 90mm long, both ends drilled 6mm, bottom end 16mm deep and the top 18mm. you need a bit more at the top so you can adjust the control knob so sits at the right height in the fire top.

Grub screw holes are about 20-25degs out from each other so drill the bottom one then get the top position right by setting it up so the control knob is pointing in the right direction when you've finished.

My piezo unit has the number L808337 on it. It comes from a carver fanmaster gas fire in my caravan. It sits between the knob on top of the fire by a long bar to the gas regular in the bottom of the f
