Hi as i have mentioned in a previous post i have just bought a 1997 Abbey Spctrum 520. I have been checking that everything works as it should but i am no sure how the onboard water tank works, by this i mean how to fill it and does it automatically switch to onboard tank if the outside one is empty. also if anyone knows where i can get a manual for the caravan i would be very greatfull.

We had an Abbey GTS with the same system.( It was a while ago now).

I  remember that you connected an Aquaroll to the outside fitting with a submersible pump, and there was a separate switch on the control panel to fill the tank.

There were three lights on the control panel to show the water level (red, yellow, green) which never seemed to work that well. These worked off floats in the tank.

It was not automatic.

We found it was necaessary to clean the tank fairly regularly with Milton tablets to prevent musty taste in the water. We made up a solution in the aquaroll, pumped it through, left a while then flushed with clean water.

We used to run the tank low before leaving and drain it when we got home.(Thereshould be drain plug underneath.)

It was cracking van, ours was an 89 model, bought from a dealer in 90 (unused) had it 9 years.
