Today while carrying out the renovation project which is my caravan, I got a bit bored of chipping out rotten wood and thought I'd check out a crease in the wallboard under the front windows, when i took out the screw from the blinds i knew i had encountered a little problem as it just ripped out with a lot of dusty wood. Luckily this problem is nowhere near as serious as the other little problems we've had, it seems to be contained to the left side of the big middle window and the right side of the small front window, got another piece of wood that will need to be replaced and a bit of drying out for the other. I've excavated up and pulled out all the damp and water stained wallboard, the top of the window is fine, so the water is either coming in down the sides of the windows and under the caravan skin or the screw holes where the windows are attached.
Should the window rubbers have been stuck as well as just stapled? They came out really easily after pulling out about 100 staples and there wasn't an awful lot of sealant (non drying type) between the skin and the batons, but maybe the water ingress had washed some away....
