Took my front windows out for resealing , dont think they were sealed last time, anyway have a few cracks in the front panel , whats the best thing to do with them






BTW have cleaned a bit since photo

You could try white or cream silicone sealant or car body filler. I think the silicone will be easier.

I would use "Sikaflex 521 UV Caravan" it is the best sealant to use on a caravan. You can get it at most decent caravan accessory suppliers, or on e-bay for about £10 inc.




Silicone is not so good!

Make sure you clean everything up properly before you apply the stuff.

Sikaflex would be my choice , please don't use silicone sealant for sealing caravans .

OK, got a bit carried away and replaced alot of timber surrounding windows.

With the cracks i used fibreglass on the back , followed
by epoxy glue in the crack, followed by a small amount
plastic car bumper filler.


Anyway now planning to paint the whole front panel,
with standard gloss ( rollered ) , but cant decide on undercoat.

Anybody painted the front before.

Thinking about this undercoat

primer


BTW painter and decorator, so know i can get reasonable finish

you need coach paint and a brush standard gloss paint stays soft for a long time and when it does dry out it crack or peels or both.
