I wondered whether people could help.  We are weighing up the pro's and cons of buying new or a used van a couple of years old.  Our current van is too small for us now, is 14 years old but is in fantastic condition and completely damp free!!

One of the problems I have with buying secondhand is that we could end up with something that is worse, in terms of damp and problems than we already have!!  I  know that Lunar will not transfer the warranty on to the second owner - is this the same with all manufacturers?

Thanks for your help

Claire

if the van is at a young age bailey will transfer the warranty for about £25.only if it has been serviced at recommended times. think this is only through a dealer.

Swift group warranties can also be transferred if correct servicing has been done and records kept.

Thank you for your replies - This is great news and puts my mind at rest about buying a nearly new van.

Anyone know of any 2009 year Bailey Limousin's for sale?!!!!!

We bought our Bailey from Reading Caravans which is an approved Bailey dealer and they have an agreement with Bailey to continue the warranty. They advised us to get our van serviced within the warranty period (it only had 1 year left) so that any faults could be repaired under the warranty.

It is going in next week for the service so we'll see if it needs anything doing.

Some other local dealers will offer a 2 year warranty on used vans though not specific to the manufacturer, they would do repairs in their own workshop.
