Hi everyone

Can anyone please tell we how to replace the lock on my 1997 elddis vogue caravan.  It looks like it should have a flat plate on the back of the barrel but im not sure.  I have just bought the caravan and this is my first so im not sure if it is a standard part or if i need to order one and if so from where?

I hope someone can help many thanks

Plenty on e-Bay under locker locks.  If you aqre going to a dealers to check out the type you need, they may have one in stock.

I can't even see how the old one comes off it looks like it is just a plastic thread but before i attack it wanted to find out if there is a correct way of taking it off.

Hi, if its the same as on our 1995 elddis gulfstream its just a case of unscrewing the barrel from the rear, OOOH MISSIS. I  got a new one off ebay for about £13.

If you can get a new, similar lock, you could be best trying to replace just the plate that is missing. Then you should still have matching keys for the whole caravan. If it Is the plate that I am thinking of, they are usually held on with either a small nut or screw, so could be an even quicker and simpler repair than initially thought
