Hi, i have purchased a Viscount 4 berth caravan it's a good solid dry van and i can't find out what year it is or the location of the chassis no, can anybody help.
Hi Jack,I think most of the stuff on Google relates to the Australian Viscount.
I used to have a Viscount Sunfire & was faced with the same problem as you, chassie number was required for insurance.
After much research I managed to locate the chap who made the Viscounts & he was still biulding them for the Romany travellers this was about seven years ago.
I spoke to him on the phone & he told me that it could be found under the shroud covering the A frame, so took mine to bits but never did find it. He also told me that he could supply new panels to order as he still had the molds in his workshop.
He was located in the Aintree area of Liverpool.
In the end I got a small Ali plate stamped my postcode on it & screwed it to the A frame the insurance co accepted this.
The Viscounts were brilliant vans though a bit heavy to todays standards.
I think there is still a Viscount caravan club they can be contacted here. viscount at lancaster3.demon.co.uk
Cheers Tony.
