Hia all!!   Have nearly finished repairing the front of our rotten damp avondale- all water tight now- hurrah!!! A BIG THANKS TO ALL & THE WIZARD & SITE-VERY TIME LABOURIOUS  BUT END IS IN SIGHT!! PICS TO FOLLOW!!

We are now trying to test the appliances

Have found the water pump (a whale mini sub 801 12 v) and plugged it in outside (the white round connector & 2 pin thing to the caravan) submerging the black pipe into a water barrel.

Problem is- when we press foot pump by sinks- IT MAKES A SOUND LIKE PUMP IS WORKING BUT NO WATER IS PUMPED OUT THE BARREL!

Can anyone tell us if 1: have we connected the parts correctly?

If so-is our pump broke & we need a new 1 (don't know any other carvaners with caravans to swop pumps to try.)

Have searched the water pump postings but can't seem to find anything similar-so again are hoping to pick someones brain!

Thanks Dora & Dave

you could always take the water tube off the plug to the caravan and see if water comes out, if not but you can still hear the pump you could swap the wires over in the plug where you took the pipe from and try again.

Does it have hot water? Can take a while to fill the heater.

Is the tap blocked? Have you opened the tap valve?

Pop the pump into a bowl & see if its pumping water.

hia guys

thanks for the good advice..all very plausable

have now realised we made a bit of a mistake by submerging the pipe- not the white motor part- idiots i know!! lol

is now working brilliant & pumping (only cold water not hotties :-)

thanks again for taking the time

hope this may help other newbies

ensure the pin & pipe are fitted to the caravan & submerge the white motor in the water....so simple!!! lol

thanks again, Dora & dave.
