i have a swift challenger 1994 and would like to repaper the bathroom but i a bit concerned about using household wallpaper paste (solvite extra strong all purpose paste) because of the caravan being damp when not in use,i have tryed everywere to get some infomation but haven't had much luck any help would been very apreciated many thanks toby
sorry i meant that in the winter when the caravan is stored there will be no heating on and the cold may effect the vinyl if you use house hold adhesive. my caravan doesn't have damp issues many thanks.
what you have in mind should be ok,when your van is in storage for the winter just put three or four bowls of salt in the van and it will absorb any moisture,it realy does work you will be amazed how dry your van will be.
------------- its easy enough to be pleasant when the world rolls along like a song.but a man is worth while if he can smile when every thing goes f------ wrong.
If your caravan does not have damp issues there is no reason why the paper should get damp in winter and normal domestic paste (mixed for a vinyl paper) will be ok. I am sure I have done it in the past.
We used a general purpose strong wallpaper adhesive but made sure is was the one with the fungaside in it, it's been fine all over the winter and hasn't peeled or anything, we also put salt in pots around and they work a treat :)
We use a bathroom / kitchen recommended paper and glue with fungicide in one of our old vans. Last time i saw it, last year, it still looked good as new 6 years on.
thanks for your advice i also forgot to ask whether i should remove original swift wall covering,as the wall covering hasn't come away from the wall's, i normally do in the house but i was just wondering if i should just put new paper over existing paper. thanks so much for your help much apreciated toby.
