 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr im hopping mad,

finally saved hard for a lovely new awning, looks beautiful, all happy..... SHORTLIVED OR WHAT ! !

got the caravan off the driveway to take back to storage, only 5 mins up the road and could smell what i thought to be a clutch burning smell ! !

but sadly was not down to bad driving skills, was down to what i think is the brakes  on the caravan locking on,  It was fine when we went away for easter, and all the way back, but after it  being on my mums drive for a week something is locking up ! !

caravan service place wants 90 quid just to look at it. Im hoping it will just require a bit of grease.

has anyone else had similar problems ??

What part of Essex are you? A good one is Caravan Care at Ardleigh tel 01206 233330. If you don't get your caravan at least chassis serviced it could fail on the road leaving you stuck on yer hols.

£70-£90+parts/materials is reasonable for a chassis service which yours obviously needs. I suggest you get it done. The one I mentioned charged £70+parts for a chassis service & will do a good job. He will be busy at this time of yr but should fit you in within the next 2wks.

I service caravans and this is a common problem, my advice is not to leave the van parked up with the handbrake on for any length of time. Secondly get it serviced each year to try and reduce the chance of this happening.

The price is reasonable for the amount of work involved. It might also cost you extra for parts as you could have wrecked the brake linings??

Blimey, I'm glad I don't live in your neck of the woods.

I had my Annual Service done two days ago by my local Mobile Caravan Service Engineer and the total price for the full service was £115.
