just resealed back of awing rail with mastic sealing strip what a mare has anybody got any ideas for removing old mastic without getting stuck up to the eyeballs in the stuff just in case i have another bang on the head and try it again

Hi Dave, we used Surgical Spirit.

Use a cloth so not to scratch/damage the van, it's hard work but gets the job done

use a plastic scraper to remove most of it. then use white spirites to remove whats left making sure all residue is removed, then clean area with methelated spirit, this will get rid of all traces of whiye spirit, mastic will not stick if any white spirit remains, takes a while but well worth the effort.

I used panel wipe when I did my Daughters,it wont dull the paint and evaporates to leave it residue free ready to reaply the new strip.
