straighteners, no problem, hairdryer, depends on what wattage it is.
6Amps equates to approx 1400W, so if its a dual heat, you would be ok on the lower setting, possibly not on the highest (the wifes hairdryer is 1200W on high, so would be OK)
to work out what you can use, take your amps (in this case 6) and multiply by 230 (UK voltage)
if its pushing it, make sure you turn your heating, hot water etc off before using them.
