Dear All

Sorry for the lack of technical detail but i will describe what happened if anyone can help. I have a 2006 Elddis Crusader superstorm which has a fusebox with a master trip switch and 2 further trip switches one of which is labled power sockets and heating. Over the weekend everything was working fine until i plugged the tv in to a socket as i have always done and it would not work. I then found none of the sockets nor the heating would work having done so moments earlier. I checked the trip switches and everything is still showing on but the 2 things listed on one of the switches no longer work. Everything which is listed on the other trip switch is working fine as is the power lead as i checked it with the neighbours van.

Any ideas as to what is wrong and likley cost of repair would be greatly appreciated as the van is now out of warranty.

Kind Regards

Either yo have a wiring fault on the MCB (the trip switch) that doesn't work i.e. a wire has come off somewhere on that circuit or the MCB itself is no longer working. No idea of the cost but would be a minimum of one hour's work maybe 2 plus the possible cost of a MCB (insist on a non-Chinese one)

if everything was working ok prior to plugging in the tv then i doubt it is a loose wire on the trip switch.

Is there any other switched fuse sockets anywhere, in our van we have to switch on a fused spur which the sockets and heater run through after the supply has come from the mcb. Maybe a fuse has gone in here???  Certainly sounds like there is a fuse somewhere that has blown not a loose wire.

You are talking about the 'Miniature Circuit Breakers'  better known as  MCB's, when these trip out, the switch itself only drops half way down

Just to be sure, to reset you need to press the offending switch fully down and then push it all the way back up to reset it.

The other wider switch BTW which you call the 'master' is a 'Residual Current Device' or RCD
