Can you pull the chrome piece out(Socket bar extension), as with out that bit, it looks like a handle for a drill that can be removed

Looks like it's meant to grip a cylindrical object to enable unscrewing. Possibly an oil filter or even a Cristal water filter...............Mick

The socket type extension does not pull off. It seems to be like some sort of clamp ring but with not much adjustment and to long for an oil wrench tool.
