I have purchased one of these and I am about to replace my earlier version compact housing.

The original pipework is connected by these Reich Uni Quick 12mm connectors as seen in the picture below.

The first question is how does the joint detach?  I assume they are push fit.

Also there is a square hole cut rather than a round hole advised.  Does that matter?

This grey thing between the jubilee clips - is it likely to be a non-return valve?

Is the elbow shown likely to fit straight onto the ultraflow?

I have found out how to disconnect and connect the blue connectors.

It is the grey thing I now need to know about - is it a non-return valve?

Thanks will try that tomorrow.  Regarding the valve you could disconnect it and see if you can blow in to it one way but not the other way if so it is a non return valve.

Kieth if you look at the connections there is a black tab.  If you pull on that a washer comes out, which then lets you push the grey ring towards the connector and releases the pipe.  To connect just push the pipe and it clicks into place.

I have now fitted the ultraflow and it seems to work alright, although it is a bit flexible and I can see why having support around the central area might help.  It is so much easier to connect than the old system.

Gary, do you think I should leave the valve as it is, even though its the wrong type?  Is it in the right place?
