Hi

I need to buy some trim to replace the stuff on my van, but I don't know the proper name for it, so can't search for a supplier. Anybody know the name for this stuff?

It lies along the top of the (wood) rail at the top of my sandwich bonded walls. It lies just under the alu roof, so it maybe forms a bit of a damp barrier between the cold alu and the wood. Also its wedge shaped, in cross section, to fit the underside of the slope of the roof. Its 19mm wide. Its 1mm thick at the thin edge, which lies touching the outside alu wall of the sandwich. Its 3.5mm thick at the thickest edge, which is at the innermost side of the sandwich. The alu roof lies directly on it.

Hope you can follow all that.

The top rails of the sandwich are rotten, and the staples holding this trim down, onto the top wood rail of the sandwich, are all rusted through. So I'm hoping to find a new roll of the trim to replace the old.

Many thanks
Nigel

Hmmmm... I can't find it in sealsdirect.co.uk and its not the roof joint trim. Thanks for those ideas.

I guess its not really a trim at all - more of a structural feature.

Here's a part link to a photo and diagram. This will give you a "page not found". Go there first in your browser and then, in the address bar, add AT (change symbol) N00/sets/72157624127190942. Sorry about the faff - its because this site won't accept the AT symbol.

James, this thread is eight years old so the links probably won't work now.
