Hi ya,

I would tell your Dealer that in your opinion, the Van is not fit for its purpose and ask them to change the pipes if only to eliminate from their findings.

They are allowed three chances to rectify your fault ,  going by Trading standards guidlines.

If its still not sorted you are within your rights to ask for your money back or a replacement van.

Do not let the dealer walk over you ,  be firm but polite.

We have a new van and have the same problem. I just thought it was one of the joys of caravaning?

No it's not one of the joys of caravanning!

In 14 years of caravanning, I've used a jerry can, 2 new aquarolls and 1 secondhand one in 5 different caravans & 2 folding campers and also had 2 old motorhomes with onboard tanks. The only time I ever had a bottle of water for making my coffee was when we had our first caravan which did not have any taps.

I've only taken to sterilising the aquaroll since I had the motorhomes & did the tanks in them. Only used to rinse out with fresh water each time before filling.

My children use the water for cold drinks (squash).

We've never had any poorly tummies or nasty tastes, so if there is a nasty taste something must be wrong somewhere.

We're another lot with a new van and the same problem! Mind you, we always do anywhere in Cornwall so just always assumed it's the change in water!

But have to confess, that it was more noticeable this year and we weren't sure if that was down to the new van, (a lovely Elddis), and it's pipes or the brand new larger Aquaroll that we needed to buy on the first day.

Oddly enough though, the awful taste wasn't half as noticeable in our tea when we filled the kettle directly from the standpipe. Curious?

Like another poster on this thread, we've always just thought of it as another joy(?) of camping-lol
