Hi
The struts have gone on my heki rooflight. I have found a firm that will referb them for £12.50 if possible or provide replacements for 21.50 if not(big saving on heki price). The problem is removing the old units. The hinge pins are set into counter bores(for the cover cap) and recessed into their own bores. There is nothing to get hold of. and no way to access the other side to drive them through, short or drilling an access hole which I am reluctant to do on old plastic! Has anyone done this job? Am I missing something? Any ideas please?

I believe you can get a regas or replacement at SGS in Derby a lot less than 120 big ones.

They are called Starlock caps Nigel, you just need the correct diameter of the rod.

No problem, it's what forums are best at, passing on knowledge.
Like many things, it helps if you the name of the the thing you are looking for. The interrnet is wonderful, but it can be time consumming and frustrating if you don't know where to look.
