I stupidly left the awning bag in the bathroom while travelling and the rough nylon bag has scratched away at the surface of the floor in the bathroom, it wasn't immediately noticable but we realised our floor was becoming inreasingly difficult to clean, because over the months the shiny surface was being scuffed up and the dirt was becoming engrained.  Is there anything I can do to clean and seal the surface again?

Ta

It will polish out providing the scratches are not too deep

The stuff they sell for resurfacing baths does not work even on baths

Use metal polish. Try a small area first.

We very often used to use metal polish and the inside of a empty packet of cigarettes (Woodbines) on plastic - worked very well

Metal polish?  OK ta    I'll give it a go - any particular type?

Do you mean the silver foil bit of the cigarette packet?   Looks like I'm going to have to start smoking again - oh well - needs must

no the inner rough cardboard - don't think you can get Woodbines now - possibly cartridge paper is the closest you will get to it in the shops

You may need to use wet or dry paper if the scratches are deep, again using metal polish as lubrication - Brasso is a trade name for metal polish (make sure it's the liquid not the pads )

I would use Teacut if the scratches are deeper then first use fine wet and dry then Teacut. You will need some elbow grease not sure where you can get that.
