Hi, I live in Atherton Nr Bolton and am struggling to find a caravan breakers local to me. Does anybody know a breakers yard in the north west?

Walk in caravan breakers are difficult to find as many of them break a van at a time. There is a guy in Liverpool that breaks vans and sells on eBay.

The only real walk in breakers that I have found is The Caravan Centre in Blaenavon, Wales - well worth a visit if you are in the area.

There's one at Church, near Accrington, but it's a bit of a dump. I managed to get some window stays off them for not much. If you go, don't be scared of the mangy alsation it's all bark and no bite.

Although nowhere near Bolton, there is one near Peterborough if you are ever down that way. It is predominantly a car scrapyard, but just before it, there is a caravan scrapyard run by the owner's mother. She is very helpful and you can mooch around and get bits off the vans yourself or look in the hut where there is a plethora of used spares already taken from various vans. The prices are reasonable too. A bit of a strange procedure to get in though, mainly because of dogs I believe. You have to park outside and sound your horn and the lady will come out and let you in!

Hi, there is a fantastic caravan breakers in Shaw near Oldham, ive used them many times, great range of vans, spares etc, helpful friendly guys, you can mooch around or just buy off the shelf, Plus they have a gorgeous Lab pup haha

there is one by the a55 roundabout at st asaph ,not sure if they got affected by the floods though ,last time i was there they had shed loads of stuff

nearest weve found is in Colwyn Bay, they are on ebay, but tell you to get in touch about going to see what they have in

they are on ebay as national caravan breakers (search for caravan cushions )

makes a good day out anyways..lol

Hi Matt,

I see you are in Atheton & I am in Leigh.

I think the nearst you'll find to us is Astley Caravans on South Lane in Astley.

Took me ages to locate a local breaker.

During my caravan renovation I used them for new wallboarding and bought my spare wheel from there too.

They ARE breakers but they don't mention it on their website.

I visited three times during my renovation ( see my homepage above for URL ) and I noted they had lots of spares about the place.

EDIT: Just followed the URL link from my homepage and notice SERVER NOT FOUND for them.

If it were me me, I'd still be inclined to pop down there though as they had a big compound.
