Afternoon all from a very rainy Oxfordshire...

I am not sure if anyone will be able to help me as the information I have about my caravan is a little vague!

I have a 1990/1991 Coachman 460/4 which I am not sure if it is a VIP or a Mirage. I would like to install a leisure battery as when I bought it this had been removed. The wiring seems to be there and there is a battery charger but my husband is not sure where the hook ups are for the new battery - there is only one loose wire and this is for the battery usage indicator light (the one that comes on to tell me the battery is low!).

I am going to work at a festival this weekend and am taking the caravan but only realised yesterday there will be no hook-up - which is what we normally go away with.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can access a Coachman manual - I have contacted Coachman directly but don't expect a quick response.

Also (I know I want so much ;-p) if I cannot get the battery fit in time can I hook the caravan up to the car to use 12v lights etc on the night time (whilst the car is running so I don't run the battery down on the car). Any advice is welcome as this is not something we normally have a problem with. I will be heating water etc on the gas hob so will only be using electricity for lights etc.

Just and idea, rather than leaving your car running why dont you take a spare battery with you and when the car battery is flat or so low the car cant start you could just use jump leads and jump start the car using the spare battery.

If the battery connections arent in the battery box at the side it may be that they have been cut off for some reason. Is there any sign of them under the side seat? If so why dont you just connect onto them and fit a couple of new conectors.

Iain
