We have an Abi Monza 500CT, cant remember what year. It has a plastic bathroom cabinet and fold up sink but I am really keen on putting in a vanity unit with shower.
(actually my clever hubby would be doing it....he just doesnt know yet!)
Has anyone any advice on the best way to go about this?
We have cold water pump but no hot water... we run on 12v and 240v...
Have looked on ebay but really dont know what I'm looking for...
I would say it probably not econimcal to do, you will need to buy the shower base, hotwater heater and also the shower unit itself, then all the plumbing and make sure your shower/toilet room is water tight.
I would imagine Ebay might be your best option if you decide to give it a go though for all the parts
What you could do would depend more on what space you have available and what can be fitted in - you don't mention a toilet - does this have to be factored in as well?
------------- Caravanning is a way of getting a cheap holiday out of an expensive hobby
Rachel, dont be put off. We recently fitted a shower in our very small Freedom Microlite. In all honesty it was a lot of work, but we did a very thorough job. We have not as yet fitted a gas/electric water heater although we intend doing this as we "caravan" all year around. You can get away with using an all inclusive 12 volt camping shower from Amazon for less than £20. You have no heater, of course, but its no great trouble to top up a 10 litre water container with 2 kettles of hot water from the stove. Thats what we do and we get a powerful , warm and effective shower, easily good enough to wash and rinse your hair thoroughly! Our shower tray cost about £20 to £30 plus fitting, which I did myself. If you have the time, go for it! You do not have to go to all the trouble of making a "wet" room (like we did ( i have loads of time!)) you can do a lot with a good shower curtain.Shop around on ebay and you will find the right bits for your 'van and the space available and it wont cost you the earth..............

Rune...a toilet is one of my quandries! We have a porta potti at the moment so not fixed. the vanity unit in my friends Elddis has a toilet built into it but am not sure how it is emptied, hubby thinks it might be via an outside door but i'm not sure.
Dinkum your plan sounds good and i have seen 12v showers on ebay too. have also seen shower bases on there too but the toilet issue perplexes me! will mention to hubby. Hes not keen as is thinking it will be too expensive given the age of the caravan for the water heater etc but after this summer of showering in blocked showers really fancy my own!!!
Lumpy06 thanks for suggestion of your 2 berth...we have 2 young kids so are a bit away from a 2 berth yet...in the future perhaps!
Rachel, we "mocked up" the porta potti , shower tray and wash basin before starting work to make certain there was space for it all. Make sure that you check that the toilet seat will lift up without hitting anything. I almost made a big mistake! I made a slightly sloping false floor for the porta potti covered with vinyl flooring so that water drains into the shower tray.In fact, the whole toilet room now self drains into the shower tray so any splashes run off. Cleaning is really easy! It was fiddly but worth the effort. Like you, we are not keen on using shared facilities and often use CL sites with no showers/toilets anyway. I think I spent a total of about £80 plus a further £30 for uPvc wall cladding to ensure a "wet room", but you need not go the full extent.
