You need to stop the crack progressing further, so carefully drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it spreading. Pump some silicone sealer into the hole to seal and support it. Clean the shower tray thoroughly with fine steel wool or an abrasive cleaner. Clean thouroughly with soap and water and allow to dry totally- there must be no water/damp left. Now to seal the shower tray. Make sure the van is well ventilated. I use a product called Protekta Kote. Its a bit dear, but really tough and flixible. It has a variety of uses including non=slip walk ways on ships and protecting the load bays of pickup trucks. It is available as smooth or textured(contains tiny rubber beads) for non slip surfaces. It is available in a number of colours, but I think white(which is what I use) is only available in textured. Buy some cheap paint brushes, because you won't be able to clean them. Use masking tape to mask areas you do not want to paint, but I recomend that you paint the whole tray minus the flange ie the floor area and up the sides. Remove the drain rose. It does not like coming off skin, so wear plythene gloves(most garages provide these at the pumps) to protect yourself. Stirr the paint really thoroughly and apply the first coat with a stippling action. it goes on quite thick. Re-coat when the first coat is still tacky but dry(drying time depends on temp.) but definately within 6 hrs ( can be as little as 1 hr in hot weather.). Apply a third coat in the same way so thats three coats within 12 hrs. As soon as the third coat has been applied, run a knife blade round the bottom of the masking tape and remove the tape. Allow to cure for a couple of days The result is good looking, stronger than the original and non slip to boot. The first time I used this, I used a plastic paint tray. I allowed the paint to dry and thought I would be able to crack/peel the dry paint out of the tray--- No chance. I banged it, bent it, twisted it, did every thing I could to no effect what so ever really strong, tough and flexible. Hope this helps!
