How full have you got it? The absorption fridges only cool the small compartment at the top and the idea is that cold air from that circulates around the fridge compartment. So if the fridge is packed with goodies the air can't circulate.
So long as the ice compartment is freezing then the fridge is usually working OK. However, I did notice that our last fridge gradually declined in performance until the point when one day it simply didn't work at all. That took about 18 years so at 6 years yours ought to be working reasonably well.
If it isn't overfull but still not getting cold then it sounds like there's a fundamental fault with it. Check hot hot the rear panel is - ie the warmth of the air coming out of the vents. Do not touch the rear mechanism of the fridge itself as if the fridge has failed that can get extremely hot.
When eventually died I simply replaced it with a small domestic fridge since we always use EHU anyway. A lot cheaper than a new 3-way unit and much colder as well.
