Hi,

Just bought a robin, its basically sound, just shabby.

I want to update it and make it shabby chic.

Does anyone know if i can paint the cupboards and wardrobes and kitchen with a gloss paint? Or is fablon the way to go?

My plan is to emulsion the walls (with Kitchen/bathroom paint), Gloss the wooden areas, make curtains and cushions (as my van does not have any seats.)

Any advice is welcome as I wish to start the project as soon as possible.

Gloss paint might not take so well, you can get paint specially designed for kitchen and bathroom cupboards
ie: melamine, wood, MDF, wood veneer, available in many colours from most diy stores.

The plywood is 3 mm faced with a paper wood grain pattern on it, You could try sanding it off as I don't think paint will stick to it unless you do
