I am the process of refurbing my robin, i have bought roseal one coat mdf and melamine paint to paint the kitchen and cupboards with - it states it needs no primer. but when i lightly scratch it it comes off, luckily i have tested on a draw whch cant be seen.
What am I doing wrong? any ideas?

I have not used the paint you mention myself, but, as with any painting job. The result is normally down to how good the preparation is. Would have thought you would have to abrade the surface with fine silicon carbide paper, wire wool or similar (to give it a key), then clean off ( I would use sugar soap, which by the way etches the surface) making it ready to take the paint.
I take it you did not just paint it straight on?
I agree with the above - I used a similar product and wasn't surprised that it didn't quite do what it said on the tin. Kitchen and bathroom fittings have a very smooth finish and paint just isn't going to stick well without keying the surface first.
I'm no expert on painting , but although it says one coat i would put on a very thin coat first and allow it a day or two to dry , then apply a finish coat .
I know that when painting on top of varnish or gloss a product from b & q ESP this will allow you to paint over anything! No preparation required just paint it on allow to dry and anything will adhere to it. It does smell and need plenty of ventilation! This may do the job no sanding involved.
