Check the condition of the brake coupling on the hitch. It is meant to be dampened to prevent this happening, but if it is worn - or even disconnected - then you can get noise when braking and moving off again.
Make sure also that the grease points (including the one underneath if it is an Alko) are well greased. Sometimes lack of grease can cause things to seize, then suddenly shift.
