Oh the fun I've had with our electric flush!
As said the fuse can be a problem. On ours the screw on cap cracked, only a bit so you couldn't tell until you removed the whole fuse carrier. But it was enough to make intermittent contact so sometimes it worked & sometimes didn't. It's a daft place to get at as well - I ended up taking the whole thing out before I could really see why it was causing a problem.
The other problem is with the microswitches. There's one that disconnects the flush when the cassette is removed - if that sticks then you get problems. The weird thing I found was that with a circuit tester all was fine, but it just didn't work. I just took the microswitch out and joined the wires together. So long as you remember not to flush it when the cassette is out then there's no problem.
The other microswitch is on the rod that you press down to flush - again a dodgy contact there is possible.
