Hope I am posting this in the right place, apologies if not.
Does anyone have any experience of using local firms (Anywhere in Devon really) to undertake these kind of repairs.
One of the main guy ropes on our Cabanon Atlantis has torn from the fixing on the awning and two of the zips on the awnings have lost their tabs - the zips are good but the tabs need replacing.
The whole thing needs a good servicing as she is a 2004 model but was used as a 'demo' tent at a local supplier and as a consequence has seen a lot more sunlight and rain than most tents of her age. The fabric fastenings and rubbers all need TLC or replacing
Hasn't come from a certain company on the A38 has it?
I have seen somewhere replacement zipper sliders but just can't remember where - right found it on line - they are called ZlideOn and are sold by Tent Spares who also do a number of other thing that might help you in your repairs - unfortunately they are in Warwickshire Rather than Devon.
The other thing regarding sewn repairs is to try a sail makers (quite a few around on the Devon coast) or a canvas goods maker.
------------- Caravanning is a way of getting a cheap holiday out of an expensive hobby
It may well have come from somewhere on the A38 however it's not where we brought it from - we were a little done over actually as we might well not have brought her, had we known she was ex-demo - ah well you live and learn eh?
The tent spares link is very much appreciated thanks again for your reply. We want to tidy up the tent to sell her on because like you we are now intending to take up that 'expensive hobby' you talk about LOL
