I am new to caravanning only had my van 2 week, its fitted with a rhyno motor mover which requires me to turn a nut to engage onto wheels to use, it worked ok 1st time we used it but comming home we had to push it because one side wouldnt engage it was just clicking as if it was engaging but then jumped back into position. anyones knowledge or help would be greatly appriceated
I once used too much force whilst engaging my rhyno motormover and broke a pin. They came out and replaced it nder warranty even though they must have known it was my fault.
It may have moved on the chassis and need re-aligning.
With both our Rhynos you had to push it until it touched the tyre and then push it harder until it clicked'locked into place. BUT be careful that you don't force it too hard or you will break the shear pin. It needs heavy pressure rather than brute force!
The Rhyno shear pins (bolts)are fitted to prevent damage to your mover and or your tyres, when applying the mover care should be taken to move the handle to a gentle stop, there is no need to try to apply any more force as this will not put any more pressure on the wheel. The idea is that if you have forgotten to release your mover and tow away the shear bolts will release the mover preventing damage to the tyre and or the Rhyno mover, This is fitted as a safety feature and you will have been supplied with a set of spare shear pins in your installation pack, if you do not have them you can give the office at Rhyno a call and they will send you a set out Free of Charge. Just ask for a set of Rhyno Shear Bolts.Simple really.
Can I resurrect this one please. RHYNO has sadly gone out of business, and yes, my shear bolt has broken. 2 issues, first has anyone else replaced this themselves. If so, how do you do it please! Not even sure where it is located. Second, I have only one bolt. Don't suppose anyone has any spares at all. I tried writing to the company, but no response. Thanks.
