The final annual service in the warranty period must be carried out before the end of that warranty period, but all other annual services may be carried out within six (6) weeks either side of each anniversary of the original purchase date.
You never know when you might have a £3k warranty job needing done. It happened to me with a 4 year old van and I had no problem because I'd complied with the servicing requirements.
You can use a mobile service engineer as long as they are caravan council approved as we did. They cannot do any warranty work but after our man finding damp there was no probs getting major warranty work done where we bought it, got to have more 'major' work done.
A lot of people don't realise and they carry on paying through the nose because they are led to believe they need to take it back where they bought it. I got written confirmation from Kelly that it could be done by any caravan council approved workshop/engineer.
Not so sure Janx. A mate of mine owns a four year old and he's pretty strict about getting all work, servicing etc done by a dealer as per instruction on the 6 year warranty. Not sure exactly what it says, but you do need to be carefull not to invalidate it.
His sister used to work for Bailey when he purchased the van, so it might be a little more strict with Bailey than others??
I've been advised mith my Lunar that as per your info, an approved servicer is good enough for them, but I'm going to check this out before servicing this comming year.
I would make a call to Bailey Customer Services and ask the question. Then depending on the answer, get it in writing just in case it becomes an issue should a claim be made later on in the warranty period.
As I stated I, got written confirmation via email from Bailey before going ahead with mobile service engineer and as stated already had major warranty work (new front) done at dealers with them getting the o.k from Bailey without quibble. (New back just going through at moment)
They did photo copy the service document from the engineer.
Bailey has a network of approved retailers and service centres across
the UK. We are happy for you to have servicing work carried out at any
of these centres or any NCC approved workshop, however, any warranty
work required will need to be carried out by a Bailey Agent.
Bailey Approved retailers, however, are under no obligation by Bailey to
carry out work of another centre if they do not wish to as they are
Independent companies and Bailey has no control over their business
ethics.
A comprehensive list of retailers can be found on our website
www.bailey-caravans.co.uk or in your Service Handbook.
NCC Approved Workshops will be listed in the Telephone directory.
