Just got the van out to start getting ready for the summer and theres some ght damp patches in the toilet and wardrobe area.. Coming in where the join is in the awning rail so have whipped off the rails today to start the re-seal and have been rained off.. I have no way to seal it over night now either, tried taping it up but the tape just falls off.. How much more water is likely to get in if it rains all night? and what can I do to help it..

 If you can try and dry the join/rails, wack some gaffa tape over the seals quick!

Get a friend to hold a brolly up while you dry off and stick.

it is really windy of course that helps you loads, you already have some water coming in and you dont know how long it has been doing that for anyway!

make sure you check the other side too as obviously it is the same age and just as likely to fail.

For a short term fix, raise one side of the van just enough so all the water on the roof runs off the other side and not over the leak.

then patch it over with some thing like this there are lots of these new sealant adhesives about in every colour, look for the ones that say "even cures under water"

If it dry try "captain trolleys creeping crack leak cure" available most caravan shops or chandeliers as they use it to seal boats!

This will give you time until you can reseal the whole rail properly.

Thanks for the reply mate.. Just need to make sure I can stop as much waster getting in tonight as possible, Its getting in cos I can see the damp is getting worse..

It was already a bit tilted so will see today if its helped when I go out.. When I was removing the awning rail I managed to twist it in one place, will it bend back easily enough? or will it pull back streight when I screw it back on?
