we are about to sell our 2000 Elddis Shamal XL, and I want to make sure everything is A1 before I put it up for sale.
The glass lid on the hob of the cooker slips out of its metal mounting when on the move (so I have been removing it when moving the van), I have tried supergluing it to no avail :-(
is there any special glue I can buy which will stick the glass to the metal hinges please?
same thing happened to mine, I used a black silicone adhesive, it might have been a specialist stuff, cant remember where I got it from I think the brand was Dow Corning or something like that. Had it for gluing oven glass in place
You could try Loctite 319 which claims to bond metal and glass click this link
------------- The optimist sees the glass as half full. The pessimist sees the glass as half empty. To the engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be...
silicon sealant is used to glue glass together to make frameless fish tanks, so its pretty tough stuff. But the little metal clips are small so there will not be much surface area for grip. I would agree with the others suggesting araldite too

What ever adhesive you go with, you must make sure that both glass and fittings are scrupulously clean.. You can get an adhesive for gluing mirror stalks to windscreens. You heed to borrow an infrared secutity lamp(for viewing post codes etc marked with security pen--talk to crime prevention if in doubt) to help cure the adhesive.
