We have an older Avondale Dart (2000 model) & we have discovered small hairline cracks in the bathroom sink, creeping up from the plug. We are now reluctant to use it because of leaks, damp etc. The sink will only see light use but apart from trying to source another sink, just wondering if there is a quick fix to seal the cracks that would enable us to use it occasionally?
had ours crack like that when we were away last summer.
i temporarly fixed it with a cyano glue (superglue) that is designed to fill a gap. not the stuff you get in the like of B&Q, its for use to build model aircraft (zap-a-gap)
the plan was to do something a bit more permamnent when we got home. but its still stuck well, and not a leak since!
Jasie has it, it is quite fixable.. You could even use araldite flexible. Carefully scrape open the crack surface, fill with araldite(flexible), and when set scrape back to contour, smooth down with 400 grade wet and dry- wet with soapy water, dry and polish with brasso/chrome polish. I would sugest re-inforcing the underside with araldite and glassfibre tape.

when i had cracking round the plug hole of the shower on our last caravan i came up with the idea of fitting a larger plug hole chrome fixing.it worked really well as it covered the cracks and adding sealer under the new fitting made it even more waterproof..it did mean fitting larger drain pipes to accommodate.the hole had to be filed out to take the new fitting.

Hi we had the same problem and my oh used chemical metal from a carparts shop ,It worked brilliantley Sticks really well no leaks and still working after a year or so

Thank you for that. Have you used this yourself & can you recommend it? Seems like a cheap, quick fix............seems too easy & too good to be true though!
Thanks to all the above responses too, your advice is VERY much appreciated - we are new to caravanning & find sites & forums like this invaluable!
Not personally but I have heard some very good reports about it for your requirements. You would use it on very fine cracks. If the crack is too wide its not quite as good as it rather runs away than fills up the space.
