Hi all, we have just moved our van onto a seasonal pitch.  We have the Bailey Senator Louisiana Series 6 with the full door.

We've been using the van for 5 days and have noticed that the door won't close properly.  It was fine when we first arrived.  It closes tight at the top but seems to be bulging at the bottom.  As we're off home tomorrow, any advice on what might the problem?  Do you think we might need to lower the van?

Thanks in advance.

Have you levelled the caravan using the corner steadies? You need to get 'van level using levelling blocks under wheels & only when level, wind the steadies firmly onto ground using blocks of wood under them rather than wind too far down.

Any attempt to actually lift the 'van up to level it using the steadies can distort the body & cause cracks & water ingress. A door not closing is a sign of body distortion, if ground is soft. you need to wind up steadies & relevel 'van, it would be good to put paving slabs under steadies if you are allowed.

if not as above it is just possible the door is taking on water and swelling with the wet cold weather and pushing the door closer to the frame.

the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Thank you for your replies.  We have tried to re level the van but with no change to the door position.

The van was sited on a site with very heavy snow and no awning up over winter so perhaps you are right Michael (I do hope so).  The door does close but not properly at the bottom so we will leave it now until the weekend and see how it goes.

Thank you both for replying.
