I'm having some problems with the shower tray. I cant for the life of me see how its attached to the floor. The Meh'm Sahib wanted to leave it in, but I'd like to remove it altogether. Anyone know how the thing is attached to the floor of the toilet?
Got it. The tray was down with what must have amounted to 10kgs of putty/adhesive. With the judicious use of a skill saw and crow bar, its out. Now I can rebuild as we wish.
R.S.M. from memory, mine was fixed round the sides with screws. I notice you haven't removed the toilet though, a sizeable chunk of the tray goes underneath this. The toilet unit in my 'van sat on a piece of thickish plywood which was under a raised section of the shower tray. Once you'd removed the cassette from the toilet there were four screws through the bottom of the toilet unit in the hole where the cassette was (awkward), once these were removed along with the trim pieces on the top and sides of the seat (you don't seem to have these), the unit lifted out. The entire thing hangs on a metal bracket and lifts off. This then gives you access to the splashback/vanity unit panel. Hope this helps.
our was on with screws as well and the toilet was also on part of the tray,we removed ours to sort out damp problem ,i didnt want to put it back but hubby said it had to go back !!!!,ive put carpet on it for it isnt comfy standing on the shower tray through the night if your up for the loo, dont think we had all they pipes in ours mind you ,different make of caravan from ours
Thanks Taxater and Winnie. I managed to get rid of the tray with out many issues. It was held to the wall with screws as you said and 2 battons which were screwed to the wall. Now I have to find a lightweight unit to replace it with....!!!
I'm going to build the unit myself tpayre. I foresee a corner type unit perhaps with a glass sink, but it will depend on weight. The unit will be wall to wall and covered with the same wall covering to blend it. Not to ambitious or difficult. Floor will be plated and have soft covering on it for comfort and a new light fitting.
