I own a Bailey Pageant Imperial 2000 caravan, we have just returned from a weekend away...... The cascade heater would not heat the water up, and on the last day the plug sockets stopped working. The fuses hadn't tripped out or the main campsite switch. Can anyone give us a clue what to do next, that won't cost loads of money please.
On the Cascade there is a reset button on the front of the water heater under a little swing cover kept in place by a screw. However that does not explain why the plug sockets stopped working. Does the fridge work on 230v or the electric heating? The main electric control panel has a master switch and up to three circuit breakers, are you sure one of those has not tripped?
sounds like the element in the heater could have shorted out and tripped your box.check first the fuse box has not tripped out in the caravan.ours does this regular if we use to much electric in one go.dont mind as i do not need to go for the warden.the box has a plastic door at the front, open this and lift up the switches.it may work then.

------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Can you be sure? Most breakers trip with the switch in a mid-way position and depending on viewing angle can still appear to be ok. They need to be reset by switching fully off then on again.
I'd agree with suggestions above and suggest these be checked.
With regards to your plug sockets not working and 'fuses' not tripped out, I agree with above posts, but suggest another look at your 'vans consumer unit. They usually have 2 circuit breakers and a third slightly wider one marked 'rccb' or the suchlike. This is the rcd safety breaker, this should be set in the up positon also.
PS
As suggested by David Klyne, check if the fridge is working on 240v (Do this by plugging your 'van to your house sockets. You will need an adapter) and switching off & on the circuit breakers one at a time. the 6A one should work the fridge & lights and the 10A one the sockets. This way you will find out if the failure is restricted to sockets only or total.
Thank you everyone for replying. We have checked the circuit breaker and the reset button but to no avail We will try johnjory's idea and let you know.
Thanks to Michael as well for the suggestion for the Cascade heater. Will give everything a try and keep you all up date
Mabe you have more than 1 fault! check the water heater as suggested above then try one of these
in the socket that has stopped working, they are cheap enough and handy anyway will be abe to get one in argos b&q homebase type places
