I have recently had a service and the damp test showed a very light dampness at the top front corner although there is no smell of damp and no sign of it visually or by touch. I have heard of the stuff in the title of this post and seen it for sale on E Bay the question is has anyone used it to good effect as I am thinking of using it to try and prevent the damp getting worse.
I have used it to repair a crack on the grp front panel, it worked great.
Where are you going to use it, your dampness might be coming from where your rail ends are fitted, you find that these are sometimes not sealed. You should also try to put some pin holes in the area of the damp to let it escape, as it will only get worse if it is traped
We seem to have developed a few hairline cracks in the gel coat near our handles on the front and the back. I've just ordered some Captain Tolley's and am waiting for some dry weather !!! Like you I reckon if it works on boats then a caravan should be easy peasy !! Here's hoping !

i have a few crazed cracks at the rear of the van.i covered mine in the clear lacquer you get with a car touch up paint pack.been fine for years and no more damage has been seen.i just give it a new coat each year.stops water getting in too.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

Cheers Michael, I'll do that too I think. I was panicking about these as you read so many horrible stories on here but I don't think they are really serious as long as the water doesn't get in and they don't get any worse. Fingers crossed !
A little goes a long way....this stuff is thinner than milk, literally like water. So,if,like me,you use it as a temporary repair to gel coat cracks on upright surfaces be prepared for long dribbles of run off.I havent found a good way round this yet, obviously masking off will help. That and a handy wet sponge to wipe up excess. But it is a great emergency fix, taking care of things until you have the time and resources to strip off, trim rails etc.
Its thinner than water, which is why it penetrates so well.
If you use a little and keep at it 'till no more goes in, it gives excellent results that last really well. Dried on dribbles will come off with meths on a rag.

do a small test area and let it dry before doing all of it.
