Hi can anyone tell me how to put vinyl paper backed wallpaper on to vinyl wallpaper, as it will not come off the ply thanks

i use PVA glue for pappering the caravan

You can use a stuff called polybond,buy it from b&q,it will

seal the paper below.Just paint it on the walls and let dry,

Its used in the building trade to seal tiles before you put

another layer on top.Apply then just paste your wallpaper

as usual..its cheap.

 i did 3 parts pva 1 part water but i was hanging a very heavy embossed flock vynal papper. get the cheep pva from any diy place you cane seal the old papper with it aswell just do a 1/2 and 1/2 mixs. i use pva for everything lol

Ok thanks I will Fallenangel and Jeff Luke I phone B&Q and they said they did not sell polybond but he sounded a bit clueless thanks to all

I find most B&Q staff are clueless these days, they do sell a pva bond but just do as fallenangel said & you cant go wrong.

Hi,are you trying to stick one vinyl onto another if so you will need to make sure everything is clean and grease free, or nothing will stick for long then if it is vinyl you are sticking to you will need to break the surface slightly by giving it a gentle rub, down with medium sand paper and then seal with a oil based eggshell paint, and then stick your new wall covering with a ready mixed adhesive allow a couple of minutes to soak then hang, if it is another paper you are sticking to make sure all the seams are stuck down well and try not to make new joins on top of old ones

Just tell them your plastering an old wall and you want

something to seal it.Polybond is a pva sealer,it may come

under a couple of names now.

Just had a look myself Wendy and it seems they dont stock

it any more..perhaps a builders merchants.It is pva bassed

but a lot thicker than normal pva...

I have tried MKM.Doves,Jewsons and Travis Perkins none stock it so I have getting some pva so I can do it this weekend

pva is not a proper wall covering adhesive, it doesn't have a fungicide in it to prevent mold growth where a ready mixed adhesive as, in my 32 years as a decorator i have hung quiet a bit of paper in humid and damp conditions with no probs, and if its a vinyl you are sticking on to even pva isn't 100% without keying it first, and you know how damp caravans get when cooking and in winter
