Argos are selling the Kojak jack and levelling system for nearly one third of RRP (£39.99). At this price it is a bargain and will ensure that when jacking the caravan up it is done safely without possibility of damage to the chassis. Picking mine up today.
Hi. Thanks for that tip. However, I was a little concerned about how good an offer it was as the link says:
"Additional Information
* Please note item 9257878 has previously been on sale at £42.99."
So it seems that, like so many of their "offers" it is not that much cheaper than normal. Also, like many Argos offers it is out of stock for delivery or for collection at my two local stores.
Kevin you might find when you pick it up it will be the kojack lite and not the one showen mine was,but i was pleased with it because its a stronger jack and fits into a small compact case
Yes as you said Alpiner, it turned out to be the Kojack Lite model but actually the size and its compact carry case is perfect! I found a £2 off Argos voucher and deliberately didn't tell the girl it ran out on 28th Feb but fortunately it still went through the sales till so I got the full kit for just £37.99 - excellent value.
As you say it is actually a stronger jack with double the SWL of the scissor type at 2000kg.
Hopefully it will fit my caravan - but noted in one thread that the holes may be covered by the under-slung spare wheel carrier....going down to caravan tomorrow (in storage) to do a trial fit.
Also thanks Lawrence for the comprehensive fitting pictures - looks quite simple really and the final fit up in use looks safer!

If it is the bottle type jack and not the scissor type it is the "lite" version.....nomatter really as the fixing/jacking plate system is identical and to my view is much safer.
Now that I have an easy and safe method of lifting my caravan, I am investing in a pair of supports presently on offer at Discover Leisure at £12.99 to prevent flat spots occuring on tyres when in storage and minor wheel level adjustment when on site if used in conjunction with a piece of board beneath:

Looks a good idea - do you jack the wheel up to get the support underneath or do you reverse or pull the caravan onto it? Looks a bit too steep for the motor mover to cope with it.

Had requirement to use the jack this week to change over tyres and it worked a treat....in my opinion it was a very secure connection to the locating bar built in to the lifting brackets that are fitted to the chassis. I followed the instructions to the letter and van never moved at all but I did retain the caravan hitched to the car when lifting.
For less than £40 I feel that the Kojack Lite version is a brilliant product - fully recommend one to anyong out there! As another post has pointed out it took a while to make sure that the lifting brackets were fitted level and this was done AFTER first getting the caravan floor absolutely spot on level. Hopefully next time away I can use the in-built level gauges on the lifting brackets to get the van quickly levelled.

well spotted got mine today, I had thought about getting one a couple of years ago but was put off by the price, so bought a normal jack instead. Not a good idea, I struggled to turn the lifting handle, and the jack took a slight bend, and was not very steady.
This one looks spot on. Dont think the levels will be any good, i would think they will get dirty and will be hard to read, I wouldn't like to get down on my hands and knees on a wet camp site to read the side way levels. It looks like one of those ideas that looks good at the time, but is not much use when you come to use it.
Has any body checked to see if there is enough room under the van to use it if the tyre is completely flat? Quite fancy one of these how heavy is it please?

This is the reason we went for the Kojack. It does not jack onto the bottom of the chassis but onto brackets that, on my FC, sit halfway up the chassis. Also the lifting piston is a 3 tube rather than the more usual 2 tube of a standard bottle jack. More clearance for the same lifting power.
So to answer your question, yes, I did check that there was enough clearance to get the Kojack under my very low anyway FC Chassis even when I have a flat tyre.
This jack is no heavier than a normal bottle jack.
