Hi,
Last week we prepped our van ready for the road and all the electrics were fine when plugged into our house mains. When we arrived at site and plugged into 16amp mains, the 12v lighting, electric heater and water pump would not work but the two mains lights would. All the fuses are fine and rcb trips ok!

The car/middle/van switch is not lighting up either?

Any ideas what the problem is would be appreciated.

Thanks every one!

I'd double check the fuses, and the wirng to the fuses, then i would check for a 240v feed into the charger unit, and 12v coming out, also get the leisure battery checked.... as if it is completely flat it will act as a resistor in the 12v circut, hth

if it trips out when you try the electric heater the element could be faulty.when on EHU check the charger is giving 13.5 volts to the battery.the battery should have a reading of 12.7 volts if its full without EHU connected.double check the trips, trip all out and lift fully again.also check for a 10 amp fuse near the charger itself.

You said that you tried the 240 volt electrics throught the house mains but haven't stated if youv'e got a fully charged leisure battery on board? If you haven't you won't get any 12 volt power at all to operate the water pump or 12 volt lighting.

Try renewing the fuses one at a time. It's possible for a fuse to test OK on a meter, but proves to be a dud as soon as a load goes on it.

Best thing to have for situations like this is a meter for testing, worth their weight in gold at times. 12V test meter

I have a bailey pageant imperial caravan. Can't get water system to work at all. Weve had pump tested at shop and that is working fine but when we plug it into our caravan nothing happens, doesn't seem to be any power going to pump connection. Have checked fuses and seem ok. Please help

I can see that this is your first post but you are best to ask your question on a new topic as you are more likely to receive answers on your personal question rather than someone elses post.

switch on your pump without the pump connected and you should have a green light.this indicates your fuse is ok.no green light look at fuses again.make sure you have turned on the pump at the switch and turned on the 12 volt switch as well.check your drain plugs are closed.i forgot mine once.
