If its a really desperate but tempory repair i would glue it with superglue then to make double sure no water got in if it rains, then top it with several layers of selotape, or if you dont mind the look of it, go for duct tape which is a bit stronger. at least it will get you through the weekend and avoid having to dissapoint the kids,
You can then continue your search for a replacement with a little more time to spare when you get back home, and if it ends up with you having to remove the window to send it away for anew one to be made, then just replace it with a piece of plywood as a tempory measure whilst its gone.
