Already had great advise on fixing aluminium wear on the exterior of our caravan hubby thinks he can purchase aluminium sheets and place over the top of old ones any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The damp rotting wood is over the whole rear end of van. The caravan is disappearing before my very eyes it's a good job hubby is so positive other wise I would be in a right state. We got the caravan for family time and relaxation now I can see months of hard work ahead and great expense:(

Do be careful about putting new sheets on top of the old ones.  You will greatly ncrease the weight of the caravan, maybe to the point it would be illegal to tow.

Whoa!

We are talking of small areas of thin aluminium here, not bed sheet sized slabs! In the thickness used in caravan skins it is really lightweight stuff.

Hi Dixon, you could use epoxy resin,and push it into all the small holes, (if there is any) and use car fine body filler,rub down, then paint,can get colour mached at the paint spry stores, As for the damp issues with your van, the link jeff juke posted for you is a very good link,will give you better idea of what may be required for your van, and there is always this part of forum,for help. keep us posted. good luck.

all repairs are do-able but it realy might be time to bight the Bullitt and get another one, as painful as it seems/sounds it can be a case of good money after bad. and if its that old you will be tickled pink with a newer and better spec.

hope you understand there are many out there seeking good homes.
